Old Rustic Shack With Character

Monday, February 9th, 2009

So this is one of the many shots from my recent trip to the south.  This was shot in Tennessee.  I love the detail in the wood and how the whole structure leans from being so old.   I did adjust contrast in post and did some extra little adjustments.  There are so many abandonded homes and shacks all over the south.  I find it fascinating that at one time this was a shack or actually it looks like a tool shed that someone took the time to build with their own two hands and used it.  They walked in and out of it getting whatever necessary tools they needed to attend to their farm.  There is a soul that permeates around these places.  Like someone just up and walked away but their sould lingers.

Recent landscape photos-Fall colors

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

Hi everyone !  So I recently returned from my trip to the south.  I went to shoot the Fall colors and small towns. So I flew to Nashville to meet up with a friend and we drove up to Kentucky then back down to Murfreesboro TN. then kept driving south stopping along the way whenever I saw something I wanted to shoot.  I met some interesting people in Alabama and Chattanooga.  All in all I had a blast and ended up with some beautiful photographs.  I shot with my Canon 1DS and a little bit with my Rolleiflex.

When I saw this bench and how the light was filtering through the trees I told my buddy to stop !
