Get to know your fashion model
March 2nd, 2009Ok so TIP # 2 ➢ Talk to your model before the shoot as he or she is getting their make up and hair done. Joke around, get to know them, be approachable and friendly. This is the perfect time to establish some kind of bond. Even if you can only spend 10 minutes with them, it’s better than nothing. So how do you start off the conversation ? Hi my name is Jason and I’m your photographer today. Or for you guys who have already spoken to the model to set up the shoot but haven’t really spent much time talking, then walk in the make up room and just say hi and tell her how great she looks or how good he looks if it is a male model and then the conversation will just develop on it’s own.

THANKS YOU SO MUCH! i see that as a teen your passion for photography was big, you were so lucky to have been able to be of assistance and learn from jerry. my passion for photography is growing by the day im only 23 i’ve been into photography sense i was in middle school but due to our familys financial situation i never had any money to actually buy a camera, until i got to high school,i finally got a 35mm manolta and started taking pics as a hobby, after high school my brother got me a 30d canon which i still use,its been a good camera, i want to be the best at what i do but i feel that where i live in , San Bernardino there is no major chances for good education on photography or for being of assistance to a pro like there would be in L.A. its hard out hear, for a person like me who has the passion but has 0 direction, i want field, hands on education i cant do books. i guess my question is in your opinion what do you think the best move would be for a person that has passion but has little assistance in growth or education due to the lack of photography jobs out hear and schools

Well Art there are many resources online but I hear ya on the hands on learning part. Nothing beats hands on learning. You can still drive into LA to assist photographers.
The other option is that I offer private one on one photography workshops. It is a two day workshop and it is hands on. Click this link to learn more and also feel free to call me anytime if you would like to set something up.
