Hi Syd!
You're welcome buddy. I appreciate you reading my blog and getting something out of it. I am very happy that my articles are helping you. Yes the 5DMK2 is an awesome camera. Throw on a fast lens and your set. Go through all my archives. There is a ton of information available for you to discover.
Thank you for your concern about my neck. I am doing great. I still have bad days. It will never be totally perfect but I thank God for the relief that I have now. After three surgeries it's not fun lol.
Syd thank you for your contribution and please come back for more !

Hey Jason ! Thanks for all your efforts on sharing your precious experience ! I really deeply appreciate it !
I've just discovered your great site and blog during a google search on MAKE UP and FASHION photography and I became a fan the moment I read your first tip.

I'm a nature photorapher based in Tehran-Iran and recentlry have switched to portraiture and fashion photography and your tips (specially lighting tips) have a great impact on my vision and skill of lighting setup and also handling the situation during the photo shoot.

On this matter (though its a little bit late to comment :P ) I like them both but like the original one much more simply because I'm a fan of available light myself ! Long live 5DMKII's low noise HIGH ISO which helps us to have great shots with no xtra light setup !

Thanks again. I also read bout your neck and surgery stuff :(
I hope you have totally recovered and have no problem with it.
Cheers.

I like more the cropped photo, not only because it is Black&White, but because it changes the point of interest from the back of the girl, to her face. Im far from moralist but the colored one is like the photos that are in the men's magazines as Maxim and others, and the cropped one remarks the beauty of her face and force us to imagine what could be the full picture. Unbelieveable that both are the same one! Thanks for sharing.

Hi Cindie !

Thank you for your opinion. At the time I used this in Lightroom I had just gotten the program and was still experimenting. I didn't know that one could save presets. I went back into Lightroom to try and remember what I did and I just don't remember. To this day I still just import a photo into Lightroom and just mess around until I like what I see, BUT now I save my results as a preset so I can use that look again if I like. I don't do my own post production so it's rare for me to do something like this unless I just feel like experimenting. I still haven't read the manual lol.

hi jason! i like the black and white version better because it's tightly cropped which makes your eyes focus only on the model and the contrast of her black lingerie to her white skin makes it a strong photo.

i just noticed though it's not an ordinary black and white conversion. it's kinda like a duotone. can you share your technique on how you do your black and whites on lightroom? if it's not asking for too much ;-)
